OADS can support institutional decision-making through access to aggregate or record-level data (including administrative data from GU Experience or GMS and data from previous student or faculty/staff surveys), when consistent with our privacy and data security policies. To expedite your request, please consider:

  1. What data would you like to obtain (e.g. admissions, enrollment, degree completions, appointments, titles), and for which population(s) (e.g. undergraduate students, faculty)?
  2. What is the purpose and intended outcome of the request?
  3. Who, specifically, will the information be shared with? Will any resulting analyses be shared outside of Georgetown (i.e., is it intended for public consumption)?
  4. What is the time table for your project?
  5. Do you foresee this becoming an annual/semi-annual request that we can build into our calendar?

Consistent with the University Survey Policy, OADS can support offices and departments that want to design or administer surveys for the Georgetown University student, faculty, and staff/AAP communities. OADS also coordinates campus survey administration to reduce the risk of conflicts between departments.

Georgetown has a Qualtrics site-wide license available for use by all students, faculty, and staff. Please refer to the UIS Qualtrics site for steps on setting up an account. Resources for designing a survey questionnaire are available at LinkedIn Learning @ Georgetown.

  1. What are your research questions?
  2. What is your timeline?
  3. What is your target population?
  4. Do you plan to use incentives for participation?
  5. Who, specifically, will the results of the survey be shared with?
  6. Have you drafted an instrument, or will be using an existing instrument or questionnaire?
